Monday 1 May:
CBBC 1PM BST "Totally Doctor Who" ep 3
Tooth and Claw averaged 8.9 million overnight viewers on BBC One
on 22 April, dominating the ratings that night. The final numbers
for New Earth on 15 April will likely come out today or tomorrow
(overnights were 8.0 million). School Reunion, with guest stars
Elizabeth Sladen and John Leeson (voicing K9), will air at 7:20PM
this Saturday 29 April. At the moment Doctor Who is expected to
return to a 7PM start time on 6 May.
Doctor Who Confidential's schedule on BBC Three remains erratic.
First airing remains immediately after the new Doctor Who episode
premieres on BBC One. Sunday repeat listed at 3:05AM late Sunday for
the next 2 weeks (subject to change). A 15 minute Confidential
airing at 7:45PM on 30 April appeared and then disappeared from the
schedule. Another 15 minute Confidential has now appeared at 7PM on
7 May.
"K-9 Adventures" - the robotic companion to the Doctor from 1977 to
1981 is getting the 3rd show spun off Doctor Who characters (K9 &
Company got as far as a pilot in 1981, Torchwood is in production
now). "K-9 Adventures" is a project by K9 creator Bob Baker and is
not connected to the BBC. 26 ½ hour episodes (running time will
presumably include commercials) will be made by Jetix Europe at a
total cost of 3 million pounds. The Doctor is not expected to appear
in this children's show, a comedy-fantasy series set in deep space.
No word on if John Leeson will be asked to reprise the role of K9 in
this version of the show.

KBTC/KCKA Tacoma/Centralia, WA http://www.kbtc.org returns Doctor Who to their schedule this Saturday at 6:30PM with The Three Doctors. KBTC is the first station to return the 1963-1989 version of Doctor Who to their regular schedule since ABC Australia in September 2003. KBTC had to remove Doctor Who from their lineup in {t[12601=December 2004}} when their contract expired while BBC Worldwide Americas was shopping the new series to cable networks. The broadcast of The Three Doctors was intended to be a pledge special and is scheduled for 2 ½ hours, however at last word the studios for the pledge drive were under renovation and the pledge night was due to be delayed. KBTC's May schedule is not online yet, so we don't have a regular day/time for the series at the moment. Stay tuned, and here's hoping for no delays.
WYBE http://www.wybe.org Philadelphia, PA was at last word "considering" adding Doctor Who back to their lineup - WYBE was another station who had to drop the show during the negotiations for finding a US broadcaster for the new Who. If you live in the broadcast area of WYBE, you may want to politely contact them (contact information on their website) and let them know if you'd watch and help support if they brought the show back. Public TV stations can buy stories from the first 7 Doctors (1963 to 1989), and certain stories (mostly Dalek stories) are unavailable to stations thanks to the ongoing Terry Nation estate contract issue.
Doctor Who spinoff Torchwood is about to enter production, and the
BBC Press office has a report on 2 new cast members - Burn Gorman as
Owen Harper and Naoko Mori as Toshiko Sato. Naoko Mori played
Toshiko Sato in the Doctor Who Series 1 episode Aliens of London.
Torchwood is set in Cardiff and follows the members of a secret
organization investigating the use of alien technology by aliens and
humans. The leads are John Barrowman, reprising the role of Captain
Jack Harkness from Series 1 of Doctor Who, and Eve Myles as Gwen.
Torchwood will air on BBC Three later this year with repeats on BBC
One, and is being co-produced by CBC Canada.

The BBC Press Office http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice and C21 Media

international sale occurs. Worth keeping an eye on, just in case.
